How Often Should I…….?

Coming into the salon not only feels good but looks good. However, at Sisters Salon & Day Spa, we believe they are so much more than that! We believe in the overall health – of your hair, skin, nails, and body! Often, we get the question, “how often should I come back in?” Let’s break down when you should be returning for your next appointment.

Get my Nails done?

Manicures clean up the nails and cuticles of the hands. We offer several options depending on if you want to regular polish, gel polish, or to add length. But for us manicures are about the health of the nails. Keeping the nails in shape and cuticles under control helps with hang nails, overgrown cuticles, and the overall health of the nail beds.  We recommend coming in every 2-4 weeks. This depends on how fast your nails grow and what type of polish you prefer. By this time, the polish has grown out and ready to be removed or replaced and the nails/cuticles have grown enough to shape them back up.

Pedicures are so important - your feet carry you for your whole life! Taking care of them is the least you can do. Most people have a hard time reaching their feet, let alone trying to trim the nails. Let us help you – we’ll trim the nails, clean up the cuticle, remove calluses, massage the feet and lower legs, and polish if you’d like. Regular pedicures, every 4-6 weeks, can help reduce calluses, ingrown toenails, or other conditions like corns. Pedicures aren’t just for the ladies; men need to take care of their feet too. Our male clientele love coming in for their monthly pedicures!

Get a Massage?

We always talk about how massages aren’t a luxury; they are a necessity. Being able to relax the muscles of the body has so many health benefits including reducing pain, stress, or aiding in other medical issues. Environmental factors such as working on a computer or starring down at your phone too much can wreak havoc on your neck and shoulder muscles. A massage is beneficial to have done every 4 weeks. Sometimes a massage therapist may recommend coming in every 1-2 weeks if there’s a concern they feel needs to be addressed, but then they will go back to wanting to see you every month.

Have a Facial?

We all know that your skin is an ever-changing organism depending on weather, hormones, stress levels, medications, etc. Getting a facial every 4-6 weeks will let your esthetician see your skin needs and choose the best facial for you (signature, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, hydrafacial, peels). They can also work with you to choose the best products to update your home care routine. Everyone wants to feel good in their skin, consistency is the number one key element to getting there.

Come in for body waxing?

Not just for vacations, body waxing/sugaring can be done year-round. When you’re consistent with hair removal, the hair not only takes longer to grow back, but it also becomes finer and more sparse – making the experience less painful. To maintain your body waxing/sugaring we suggest coming in every 4-6 weeks.

Get a hair cut or color?

Visits to the salon for hair services really do vary depending on hair length and what type of color you’re wanting. Typically, shorter haircuts like men’s cuts or pixies like to come in every 3-4 weeks to maintain the length. Guests with longer hair, we suggest scheduling 6-8 weeks to keep the split ends at bay. Coloring appointments vary as well depending on what the guest wants. Some guests with grey hair like to keep those silver streaks covered by coming in every 4 weeks or so. Other guests that like less maintenance, like balayage colors, can extend their visits to every 8-12 weeks or longer!

If ever you don’t know how often to come in for an appointment, just talk with one of our providers. We love educating our guests on their hair/skin/nails/massage, and when to come back is definitely a conversation worth having. Prebooking your appointments is a great advantage to you as well - being able to pick the day, time, and provider you want to see for your next appointment relieves some stress and won’t put you in a panic if you have to wait several weeks!
